Jennifer (Jenn) Hickman, MSN, FNP-C

Jennifer (Jenn) Hickman, MSN, FNP-C has joined Carolina Caring House Calls as a Nurse Practitioner. Designed to increase healthcare access for patients who are experiencing a serious illness, the House Calls program serves patients living in 12 counties including Cabarrus, Catawba, Cleveland, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, etc.

Hickman earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Winston-Salem State University in 2002. She continued her education after years is in the nursing field completing her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Health Systems Management from Queens University in 2010. After a little motivation and persuasion from family and friends, she went back to obtain a Post-Masters Certification from the University of South Alabama and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021 receiving board certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

With a focus of working with her patients and their caregivers as a team, Hickman desires to meet each patient where they are and to develop a care plan that is evidenced based, but equally important, patient centered. She states, “this allows patients to play a part in their care and to develop goals that are realistic and attainable”.

During her time off, Hickman enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her dog baby, Winnie. For a little fun, you can find her going to live concerts, dining at new restaurants with her foodie friends or staying in to catch a good series on Netflix. She is an active participant at her church where she volunteers and serves on the community engagement ministry team.

Hickman truly believes that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare and she strives to be a part of the solution for eliminating disparities in her local and surrounding communities.
